Economic Equality (EE) is a part of Women’s Health in The North's (WHIN) strategic priority area.

The Economic Equality team works with grassroots communities, partner and stakeholder organisations

to promote equity for women and gender-diverse people, with a focus on economic empowerment and reducing the barriers to access financial knowledge and resources.

We work to eliminate gender inequities and improve the health, safety and wellbeing of women and gender diverse people. We believe that  everyone must have  the same access to wealth and opportunities regardless of their gender. We work towards equal economic progress for everyone.

Manasi Wagh

Manasi Wagh

Manager, Economic Equality

Manasi is responsible for the strategic direction and leadership of the Economic Equality work at WHIN. She works to ensure that WHIN delivers high-quality and effective programs, resources and professional education in collaboration with partners and stakeholders. Her work involves systems advocacy to influence and enhance economic equality for women and gender diverse people across Victoria. Manasi joined WHIN in August 2016. She speaks English, Marathi and Hindi.  

Shazia Syed

Shazia Syed

Coordinator, Financial Capability

Shazia oversees the 'Let's Talk Money' program, coordinating the peer educator team and ensures the delivery of high-quality LTM sessions. Her work focuses on the management of the accurate and relevant financial information on the LTM content library. A member of the Economic Equality Team, Shazia joined WHIN in July 2017. She speaks English, Urdu, Hindi, Creole.

Peer Educator - Let's Talk Money (LTM) Program

Attia's work focuses on grassroots community engagement and delivery of impactful LTM workshops in-language in various communities. A member of the Economic Equality team, Attia joined WHIN in January 2023. She speaks English, Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi.

Health Promotion Officer – Prevention of Gender Based Violence and Multicultural Communications

Maria's work focuses on progressing WHIN’s strategic priorities including the delivery of financial literacy LTM in-language workshops to communities in Melbourne’s north. Maria manages community stakeholder engagement and communications for the Economic Equality team. She joined WHIN in Jan 2022. She speaks English and Greek.
